Light gray vessels are to use formula No. 5 gray paint. Interesting points for chaser model makers:
- Insides of doors and hatches that you can see from the outside when open: Painted gray, NOT white as was typical for many interior spaces.
- Galvanized fittings NOT painted (later, they can be painted when the finish is worn).
- Canvas boat covers, etc. are also No. 5 gray.
