This is the first photograph I have seen of the kitchen area for the forward crew's quarters. One might think it's the galley, but it isn't. The galley was at the stern. This is forward of the deck house.
The ladder is to the hatch just forward of the deck gun. On the ceiling are the bolts of the deck gun mount. The object in the foreground is the coal heating stove.
