SC 126 sailed from New London to Bermuda in March, 1918 - and then spent six months in Bermuda before completing the trip overseas, arriving at Gibraltar on 11 November 1918, the day the Armistice was signed.

Trouble came to SC 126 when it grounded and sank at Bermuda. The chaser was salvaged, and returned to duty, presumably after a lengthy period of repair.
